Kitchen cupboards crammed with every cookware item imaginable will no longer be what ‘foodies’ want in their slimmed-down houses..
Instead, streamlined storage units will be the norm and only multi-tasking cookware which follows the mantra from ‘hob to oven to table’ will find a way into the most useful room of the house.
THE SHAPE OF COOKWARE TO COME...
Imagine 20 years from now, the year 2026. The government have crammed in the allocated number of new houses in the south east and anyone living in a new home south of Peterborough is seriously strapped for space.
Under stairs cupboards and storage are things of the past, and we’re all expected to de-clutter because there’s a government tax on cupboard space. If the houses are getting smaller, the furniture and appliances now have to multitask as much as the average woman already does...
This sounds like the brave new world that’s been predicted by Professor Woudhuysen, who was asked for his vision of future cooking trends by the experts behind Le Creuset’s 3-ply stainless steel.
According to Woudhuysen, kitchen cupboards crammed with every cookware item imaginable will no longer be what ‘foodies’ want in their slimmed-down houses.. Instead, streamlined storage units will be the norm and only multi-tasking cookware which follows the mantra from ‘hob to oven to table’ will find a way into the most useful room of the house.
Single-function gadgets like rice makers, along with serving dishes and wooden handled saucepans will become a feature of yesteryear.
If this vision is scaring you already, what can you do to get ahead of the game? Well, a little birdie tells me that in line with Woudhuysen’s future predictions, Le Creuset is championing its Mediterranean Casserole pan, designed for use on the hob, in the oven and on the dinner table.
The Mediterranean Casserole would keep even the most disorganised and space-limited cook happy, with 3-ply technology - an aluminium core sandwiched between two layers of premium stainless steel - which promotes an even cooking temperature all the way through. It won’t matter what you’re cooking up in it, you can expect it to cook evenly all the way through and then transport to the table where it, well, just looks good!
