MYSPACE FOR FASHIONISTAS!
You know it's more convenient to shop online. But it can be a pain to have to keep Googling shop names, finding high street store websites and remembering passwords. How cool would it be to be able to browse all your favourite shops from one site?
Well, as from 8 March, you can! MyStyleWindow.com means that you can browse ‘shop-windows’ from one place -, just like a trip to Bluewater or the High Street.
"Until now, internet fashion shopping has been a premeditated activity,’ explains Cas Ojo, the entrepreneur behind the website. ‘For example, you see a handbag in a magazine and logon to buy that item specifically.
‘At MyStyleWindow.com, the shopper is encouraged to browse and explore a wide range of brands. You can still target something specific, but the emphasis is on the overall experience, not simply the point of purchase.’
The shop-window displays are designed and managed by the UK’s leading brands, including high-street giants such as Next and other brands such as Swarovski and La Senza. Over 100 big name fashion brands have already setup their own shop-windows on the cyber-arcade, and there will be more to come.
‘The modern shopper likes to mix-and-match high-street staples with designer pieces,’ Cas suggests. 'This site is unique in meeting this demand for diversity.’ There certainly will be a diverse range of shops - from Evans and Dorothy Perkins to Swarovski and Harrods. With Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and even an Anne Summers, most tastes should be catered for.
Coincidentally, Condé Nast plan a similar website, which is also due to launch on March 8. This doesn't worry Cas, as he says there is more to it than just being a mere portal to shopping sites.
‘MyStyleWindow.com will be the world’s most comprehensive online fashion portal,’ says Cas. ‘We have so many exciting features, in addition to the unique shop-window concept.’
One cool idea is a ‘Celeb Style’ section, which will display ‘clickable’ celebrity photographs. For example, if you see Victoria Beckham with the most gorgeous handbag, you can click it and find out who sells it online. The site also features a ‘social network’, for savvy fashion shoppers to log on to share tips and exchange ideas with other registered members. Cas describes it as ‘MySpace for fashionistas.’
