A new kind of website has launched to give us all another reason to justify shopping at Avon, The Body Shop, Mothercare, La Redoute, and 1,500 other UK retailers.

On froggybank.co.uk you pay the same prices as on the retailers’ own websites, but can offset the carbon created by your purchase or make a charity donation.

This conscience-salving retail therapy is otherwise known as cashback shopping. The retailers pay a fee to froggybank for sending them paying shoppers. And froggybank lets you decide what to do with 100% of that fee.

Marketing manager Nadeem Azam said:

“The beauty of froggybank is that as a cashback site people raise money for charity and offset their carbon without doing anything other than their normal internet shopping.

“They buy from their favourite stores and pay the same prices. Every purchase earns a fee for froggybank, but we give you 100% control over it. You can use it all to offset your carbon, or give a percentage to charity, or even keep part of it yourself.”

The cost of running froggybank is subsidised by other non-charity websites run by parent company eDeals UK Ltd. In total, it has 44 staff looking after 500,000 shoppers.
