Scratch magazine is published in the UK 12 times a year by Seed Publishing Ltd.
It is designed and dedicated for its readership, which comprises nail technicians, nail artists, manicurists, pedicurists - in fact all nail, hand and foot care professionals.
It offers a finely-balanced blend of inspiration as well as practical, hands-on advice.
NAILING THE INDUSTRY
The UK nail industry is huge - and no, I don't mean DIY - I mean trendy talons.
I used to work in beauty journalism, and it gives me great pleasure to report that Scratch, a magazine which is actually for nail technicians and people in the beauty industry (but actually I know of several non-industry types just as obsessed with everything to do with nails) is four years old this month!
It's a personal 'big-up' to the publication, which was started by the talented and dedicated Alex Fox, a lady who inspired me to carry on with journalism even when everything seemed to be telling me I wasn't cut out for it...
The mag is an interesting read, and there are free article tasters every month on the website - this month it's nail art, accessories and pedicures, as well as a feature about Russell Brand! If you're interested in beauty, and especially if you're in the industry yourself - give it a read. And well done, Alex!
