TOP OF THE STYLE TREE

Taking eco-fashion to the masses, Fair Trade fashion label People Tree has collaborated with international designers, Japanese Vogue and a host of top models to showcase a limited edition collection of high fashion Fair Trade designs.

Helena Christensen, Lily Cole, Shalom Harlow and Anne Watanabe were shot for the magazine in pieces designed by hot names Thakoon, Richard Nicholl, Bora Aksu and Foundation Addict.

People Tree founder Safia Minney says:

"All the designers that collaborated with us were very open to working with small, Fair Trade groups in hand-woven, organic cotton and recycled fabrics. It proves that with help from People Tree it is possible to create really directional pieces made in rural villages and bring hope and development to marginalised communities in Bangladesh and India. I think this project has been a huge success and opened a new chapter for Fair Trade Fashion."

Profits from the range will support and give additional technical assistance to producer groups to enable them to compete and promote livelihoods in rural areas and promote Fair Trade Fashion. They are in a limited edition of 100 pieces per style, so buy while you can!  The directional collection, which is limited to 100 pieces per style, is available to buy from Peopletree or at TopShop's flagship store on Oxford Street for a limited time only.
